Anointing Fire Pt. 2

There is a fight for the truth right now. Currently in the secular realm we see a lot of fake news which is really just a reflection of the spread of misinformation going on in the church system. There is a major shift that is occurring, and we need to be ready for this shift. The pattern of old denominations arguing with new revelation has always been there. It is the old wine skin that cannot receive the new wine. We need to bear fruit - that is what the Lord is looking for when He returns.

In 1 Peter 2:9, the Lord calls us a royal priesthood, but to become part of the priesthood you have to go through a washing process. Why do most denominations teach that the priesthood is not important or relevant in our times, saying it has nothing to do with us, when in the early church the apostles taught that the priesthood of the Old Testament was a shadow of what we are supposed to be? We are meant to be endowed with the priestly garments. When Paul talks about putting on the armor of God, He was not talking about Roman armor. Paul was speaking about the high priestly garments. The breastplate of righteousness is the breastplate of the high priest with the twelve stones.

To be a priest you must be dead to yourself. You need to be a forgiver. When you can get past what someone has done to you and stop complaining and dwelling on it, then you become a true forgiver. How can you be a priest and lead people through forgiveness if you cannot forgive others? You know what kind of person makes a great forgiver? The Word says those who have been forgiven of much, love much (Luke 7:47).

In Matthew 26, a woman with the alabaster box came and wept at the feet of Jesus, and she anointed him with the oil that she had - this was the focus point of His teaching on forgiveness. According to the letter of the law that woman was not allowed to even touch Jesus, and if we go by the letter which is the literal meaning, this would have disqualified Jesus as being the Messiah. You see the Lord is going to bypass the religious who think they’re fine and don’t need to press in. Jesus is coming for those who are tormented by their sins and want to be set free.

The anointing brings sanctification and holiness into a person’s life. As we went through the previous teaching, we saw that the early church believed that the anointing is the doctrine of Jesus Christ, and that the doctrine is based on the mysteries of the kingdom. Just as the anointing oil is forbidden to be used outside the temple, the mysteries of the kingdom were not preached to everyone. As we see in Matthew 13, Jesus did not teach the mysteries of the kingdom to everyone who followed Him. It was only to those disciples that were closest to him, not the many followers.

Jesus warned that at the end of the age many are going to come to Him confessing that Jesus is Lord, thinking that they are anointed of God, casting out demons, prophesying in His name, but the Lord will say, “Away from me you workers of lawlessness for I never knew you.” Doing signs and wonders and casting out demons does not mean that you are a Christian - it does not mean that you are anointed. The evidence of the anointing, as defined by the early church, was a transformation into holiness, and an understanding of the mysteries of the kingdom. True anointing is knowledge of the deep things of God.

Not everyone who calls themselves Christians is known by God. Jesus is telling us that only a remnant in the church is going to make it. Judgment starts in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17). I don’t understand how most denominations teach that everyone will make it when Jesus Himself said that it is a “narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able (Luke 13:24).” Many people will look for this narrow entrance but only a few will actually find it. If Jesus did it all at the cross and all we need to do is give a verbal confession that Jesus Christ is Lord to be saved then why He warn us of these things?

Jesus said we need to strive to find that narrow path. Paul said we need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Saints, looking at the times that we are in, we need to realize that we are in the final seconds. We need to live like tomorrow is not promised to us. Amen.

Sincerely,

Apostle Michael Petro
