Millennium

All the Early Church Fathers believed in what modern theologians call the “Millennial Day theory” or the “Sabbath Millennial theory.” This end time eschatology was believed and taught by the Early Church. The apostles also taught that the days of creation were a pattern of God’s timeline to reveal what He was going to do on the Earth and when the end would come. When the Day of the Lord is mentioned in Scripture, it is actually referring to the Millennial Kingdom.

If you count from the time of Adam until now, it has been six thousand biblical years, with a millennium being 1000 years. Peter wrote that a thousand years is as a day to the Lord (2 Peter 3:8). It has been six thousand years from the time of Adam, or six days. Barnabus, the disciple of Paul, tells us that after six thousand years we come to the true Sabbath, which is the Millennial Kingdom or the millennial reign of Christ. The process in which this happens and how this will take place is no longer being taught in the church. When you study this out you can see that the end time eschatology of the Early Church is completely different from what the church teaches today.

This end time eschatology was taught by fathers of the faith such as Barnabas, Hippolytus, Melito, Lactantius, Papias, Tertullian, and Victorinus, just to name a few. The prophet Hosea said, “After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up,” (Hosea 6:2) The Lord showed me this after the Pensacola Revival started to break out. After two thousand years from Christ, or two days, the revivals began in that season.

There has always been a set apart remnant who know the timing of God; they know when God is about to do something. For example, the Essenes were a Jewish sect that began in the 2nd century before Christ. They chose to separate themselves from the religious system of their time to live a life of holiness and righteousness. Their lives were set apart to understand God and His ways. They knew the timeframe in which the Messiah would come and even knew what His name would be. They knew it would be Yahushua. Jesus is just a Greek name; His real name was Yahushua.

Scripture tells us that the Day of the Lord will not come unless the falling away comes first and the son of perdition is revealed (2 Thes. 2:3). I was taught in Bible college that the son of perdition was a man that would be inhabited by Satan himself, but that is not what the Scripture says about who he will be. It’s important to understand that in Greek the term “falling away” speaks of a divorce, and a defection from the truth. So the falling away cannot be the world - they were never married to Jesus so cannot be divorced. They also can’t fall away from truth if they never had it. Jesus said that the narrow road is found by the few. The “Ecclesia,” which is Greek for the church, also means “the called-out ones.” Many are called, few are chosen. Or, you could say, many are the church, but few are the remnant.

The sons of perdition are described as those in the church who twist the Scripture leading to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:15-17). They are also described as those whose minds are focused on the things of the world serving their lustful desires (Philippians 3:17-19). They are described as those who draw back from God, and because of this God has no pleasure in them. They are those in the church, not the world, who no longer believe in the truth that can save their souls (Hebrews 10:38-39). The Apostle Paul says that because they no longer have a love for the truth, God himself will turn them over to a strong delusion so that they would believe the lie.

The Day of the Lord does not come until the falling away comes first. We can see the weakness in the church especially after so many churches shut down during Covid and never reopened their doors. The son of perdition is the religious system. It’s all those who are disobedient - they do not want to learn the truth, or have apostolic overseers. Most of the modern church wants to do their own thing and they want things their way. They are no different in God’s sight than Judas Iscariot.

The Day of the Lord comes as a thief to those who are not right with God; they are sons of the night. The righteous (the sons of light) know when the Day will come. People will be asleep to what is coming and preaching, “Peace, peace” because they are in darkness and have no understanding (1 Thes. 5:3). These are the people in the church who say that everything is alright and it’s all covered under grace when really it’s not alright. On the other hand, the ones who are aware are actively preparing themselves for that Day.

Before the Day of the Lord will come the blood red moons (Joel 2:31). We witnessed this event a few years ago. Before that Day, the Lord will send the angel of the Lord, Elijah. Elijah is the messenger of the Lord sent to pull the remnant out of the religious system and get them ready for the final harvest at which point the religious system will be removed. That is the teaching of the Early Church.

So now we know who the son of perdition is. We also know that the Day of the Lord will not come unless the falling comes first (which it has). This means that the Day of the Lord could happen at any moment and we’re running out of time. We need to spend what little time we have left getting ready and getting others ready. Everything is shifting. Amen.

Sincerely,

Apostle Michael Petro
