The 144,000...

We are coming to a time where God is going to start bringing His wrath and judgment on the earth. He’s removing the religious, and He is done with lazy Christians who do not want to have a relationship with Him. Many think that everyone in the church is going to get into the kingdom of God and that the world will be judged, but when you read Romans 1 and 2, it’s easy to see that Paul is talking about the judgment of the church.

The Apostle Paul describes those who will receive the wrath of God. It’s those who are disobedient to truth, those who won’t repent (Romans 2:5-8), and those who suppress the truth. It’s those who are keeping the world from seeing who God is in them (Romans 1:18-19) - they are treasuring up for themselves wrath. When God’s divine nature is being revealed by rightly understanding the Gospel, it gives us that ability to become like Him. We think of sin as lying, cheating and stealing, but sin actually means to be ignorant of the truth. Those things are just attributes of us not having the truth in our lives. It’s wickedness to not understand the truth, to reject it, or to suppress it. Paul is talking about the church, not the world. Scripture is clear that God is not going to overlook sin.

When you first come to the Lord you are on fire and excited. Then what happens? You all of a sudden have these other priorities and tasks that you need to do. Jesus is not your first anymore. The teaching is not the problem - it is the relationship that is the problem. We were created for Him to be seen through us. Over and over, Paul warns about the wrath of God coming to the church, not the world. The world does not have the truth so how could they suppress it? God is not in them so how are they keeping God from being revealed within them? No, this is speaking about the church.

God is going to reveal His wrath on the rebellious in His church, and at the same time, He is going to seal His 144,000. The ones who will be sealed are those who want a relationship with God; they have no other priority than having a deeper relationship with God. The wrath is coming on those who reject wanting to have a real relationship with God. The problem is not the teaching - it is a relationship issue. Paul tells us the same thing: God will turn them over to a strong delusion because they have no love for the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10). Their minds have wandered off into strange opinions because they do not want to understand or walk out the Word of truth.

The revelation of the deep things of God is what will reveal the glory of God (1 Corinthians 2:7). You and I can’t even comprehend what God is going to give us. It will be just like the times of Noah. It had never rained during Noah’s time, but God told him it was going to rain. Noah told everyone that it was going to rain, and no one, not even Noah, knew what that looked like. Noah just knew God was going to bring the rain. James said the second coming of Christ will come as the former and latter rains (James 5:7). When Jesus came, He fulfilled the early rain feasts. Jesus was crucified on Passover, was resurrected on the feast of Firstfruits, and the church was birthed on Pentecost. That means the latter rain feasts are about the second coming of Christ. Jesus said as in the days of Noah so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. He’s coming as the rain. The revelation will manifest the glory of His second coming. The song of Moses says “let my revelation fall as the rain (Deuteronomy 32:2)” and in the book of Revelations the 144,000 are the only ones who know this song.

The 144,000 are known as the firstfruits as well. The 144,000 are not a bunch of Jews in Israel - the early church understood that they would be the remnant from the church. It won’t be the whole church that will get the harvest - it will only be the 144,000. These firstfruits will be used to make the rest of the harvest holy. The rest of the church will be judged and only the remnant will step forward. Paul says that wrath is coming on those who suppress truth in the church (Romans 1 and 2). Many are called, few are chosen. The problem is a lot of people are saying that the whole church is going to make it and that the 144,000 are literal Jews, but Paul says that is the letter (literal) and we know that we need to see Scripture spiritually. Believing that 144,000 are physical Jews is letter of the Law because Paul says we’re Jews inwardly in the Spirit (Romans 2:28-29). The vast majority of people who believe in the letter cannot be a part of this remnant. They are selling their birthright because they are being taught the letter that kills.

The bottom line is not everyone is going to make it. The numbers that will come from the church are so few it’s scary. There are 2.5 billion who call themselves Christians but only few who will be used. Peter tells us that judgment will begin first in the house of God, and that if the righteous are scarcely saved, what will be the end of those who disobey the Gospel (1 Peter 4:17-18)? When you really understand the book of Revelation it is about the 144,000 being chosen. The Lord is trying to get people to repent to become part of the 144,000, the bride of Christ. The Lord is coming to His bride that is sealed in truth. He is returning in and through us. Paul said that when Christ returns, He is going to be glorified in His saints. The remnant will be the carriers of His glory in His return.

We need to press in to know everything we can about what it’s going to take for us to be a part of this elect group of people. We need to forsake all to come after Him. The Lord is not going to give over the nations to those who have not paid a price. When the sixth seal is released, the 144,000 are sealed, and I believe there are some who are still waiting to be sealed. The 144,000 will be ready for the return of Christ; they’re already going through the transition even now. Amen.

Sincerely,

Apostle Michael Petro
